Debra Sharpe is The Goddess.
Charmed, inspired, and adored, Debra has been bringing spirited food experiences to the city of Chicago and around the globe for decades. Well known as a bon vivant and urban pioneer, her grab-and-go deli The Goddess and Grocer opened its first Bucktown-based outpost in 2004. Serving a colorful, globally inspired menu of creative sandwiches, vibrant salads, mix-and-match square meals, and gourmet pantry items, The Goddess and Grocer was an instant hit. Since then, Debra has opened successful locations in Chicago’s Gold Coast, and O’Hare’s International Terminal 5.
In the spring of 2015, Debra unveiled a new concept under her moniker. This time it’s called Goddess and The Baker. Taking on the all-day crowds at Navy Pier and the Loop’s busy intersection of Wabash and Jackson, she plans on playful breakfast and lunch menus, a broad coffee and tea program, plus an abundant selection of cookies, cakes, pastries, and pies.
In her spare time, Debra is also the Visionary and Founder of The Goddess Rocks Catering. Creating backstage food experiences for rock performers around the country, Debra has fed Aerosmith, Jay-Z, and Fleetwood Mac, to name only a few.
